Characteristics of the Structure for Drilling Mud Desilter

Oct 14, 2013

Desilter is the third class solids control equipment to treat the drilling fluids. We commonly use 5 "and 4" cone to separate solid-phase particle size 15-44μm in the drilling fluids. Based on customers' requirements and capacity, we can select groups of cone into desilter.

Characteristics of the Structure

1. The strong separating power and wide particle size range characterizes the hydrocyclone with optimized velocity distribution;

2. The reversed umbrella shaped ‘wet bottom’ flow can drain out the sand easily and reduce the chance of jam at the nozzle.

3. The advanced small screen shale shaker features in high capacity, little noise, and long service life of the screen.

4. The parallel inlet pipes make the desilter work smoothly.

Working Principle

KOSUN manufactures desilters according to the size of the cone diameter, they are divided into desander and desilter. Usually the cone diameter less than 6″ is called desilter, and used as the third stage solids control equipment in drilling operation. We commonly used 5 "and 4" cone to separate solid-phase particle size 15-44μm in the drilling fluid. Based on customers'requirements and capacity, we can select groups of cones into desilter.

The high speed downward revolution of the fluid can generate great centrifugal force. The heavier solid particles will be thrown to the inner wall of the cyclones.

The deeper and smaller the diameter of the cyclone is, the greater the angular velocity of the flowing fluid will be, generating greater centrifugal force.

As the expert at solids control and leader of drilling waste management, KOSUN provides all the solids control equipment for the drilling fluids circulation system, all the products can be manufactured as the requirements of the customers. KOSUN Shale Shaker and Decanter Centrifuge are the hot products, they are applied to the oilfield in many countries and also win so much praise from the customers all over the world.
