Mud tank plays an important role in solids control system. It is the base of solids control equipment, and also the carrier of drilling fluids. Mud tank is the critical component of any drilling operation for maximizing solids control efficiency.

The system comes complete with all the essential solids control equipment necessary for successful operations. Additionally, optional solids control configurations are available to suit the needs of specific applications.
 

Mud tank designed and manufactured by KOSUN is divided into square tank and cone-shaped tank according to the shape of tank bottom. The body of the tank is made of welding the steel plate and section, using the flat cone-shaped structure or the corrugated structure. The mud tank surface and the passage are made of the slipping resistant steel plate and linearity netted steel plate which is produced by the professional factory, the mud tanks are made of the side steel pipe, all of the structure can be folded without barrier and pegged reliably. The surface of tank is equipped with water pipeline for cleaning the surface and equipment on the mud tank, we use soaked zinc processing for the netted steel plate. The ladder is made of the channel steel to take responsibility; the body and the foot board are made of the linearity netted steel plate. The two-sided guard rail are installed with the safe suspension hook. The mud tank is designed with the standard shanty to prevent the sand and the rain. The pipeline is installed in the tank to preserve the warm air heat.

In the drilling solids control system, the number of the mud tanks that are needed on the drilling rig depends on the depth of the well, and also the mud demands of drilling. Normally the shale shaker, vacuum degasser and desander are mounted together on the same mud tank as the first tank at the oilfield, while desilter and centrifuge on the second tank, and also the drilling rig would have other different tanks as reserve tank, emergency tank, etc.
