Drilling fluids decanter centrifuge is 4th phase solids control or 5th purification equipment for drilling fluids process or well drilling solids control equipment. We also call it decanting centrifuge.

Drilling Fluids Centrifuge Types

After decades' development, our common centrifuge used to process drilling fluids is decanting centrifuge. There are mainly three types like middle speed centrifuge, high speed centrifuge, also the VFD high speed decanter centrifuge.

The decanter centrifuge with middle speed will rotate 1800-2200rpm while the high speed one 2800~3500rpm. As we know, the middle speed one can separate particle diameter between 5~7μm while high speed and VFD high speed centrifuge will filter 2~5μm solid out of drilling fluids.

Furthermore, if the centrifuge rotates faster, the treating capacity will be much less, for example, our middle speed centrifuge can process drilling mud 264GPM while the high speed one may only process 176GPM ( 40m3/h ).

KOSUN Decanter Centrifuge includes middle-speed and high-speed types. The difference between them is drum dimension or size. We all know, the centrifuge drum and conveyor are essential since they determine the centrifuge speed and capacity.

Sufficient capacity and high performance promise excellent processing result. The big drum sized 700x1200mm is middle-speed centrifuge which can process 90m3 drilling fluids per hour while the centrifuge with 600x1500mm drum is high-speed and VFD-high-speed centrifuge.

KOSUN Centrifuge Feeding Pump Info

For all decanter centrifuge, we suggest submersible slurry pump as feeding pump. Since they are durable and wearable enough so that less or no maintenance is needed, it is more suitable for decanting centrifuge and weighted drilling fluids.

The submersible slurry pump for KOSUN Decanter Centrifuge adopts 11KW motor mainly. This pump will provide sufficient drilling mud for this model centrifuge. The centrifuge feeding pump model is 80YZ80-20 under 380V/50Hz input system.
